Personally, I wouldn't take the chance on ebay instruments, as you won't know if they really work until you fly, and then you may not like the results (like my first flight). But I suppose there are static tests that could be done to mitigate things (like at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/airspeed_calibration/ ), but I'll only buy new, and from reputable manufacturers from now on...
