Mark,   are you running the ignition system as diagrammed on your web site?, 
If so might I suggest you pull the distributor cap and look for signs of 
moisture condensing in it when you climb to cooler altitudes. You may see 
some carbon tracks on the inside of the cap.  some of the lower quality caps 
are prone to hairline cracks which can cause an intermittent misfire.     If 
this shows nothing then I would pull the cowl and after dark run the engine 
up and have a helper closely look for any arcing around the coils and the 
cap and wires.   It sounds like a moisture caused misfire in the ignition 
circuit to me.  Looking for such things in the dark makes them much easier 
to find.   That fat blue spark really shows up.   Hope it helps.
