If you did not want to create glass covers for the holes until you are sure this will solve your problem, another alternative might to go to your local marine supply store ( Boat US or other ) and pick up a pair of plastic or stainless air vent scoops and put them on backwards to create the low pressure area you need. A couple of screws each and your ready for flight test. These come in various sizes and shapes and some are very close to the final shape you might want. Quick and cheap as well.
