Don, Replace the spar and then you will know your worries are over. When I decided to go with the new AS5046 airfoil, I had to cut my center main spar loose and raise it to meet the correct incidence. It took me about thirty minutes to get the spar loose so I could raise it. I did it all with a very fine tooth hack saw blade and very slowly and carefully cut the spar loose from the vertical uprights on the fuselage sides. If you replace that spar then you will have no doubts about it's integrity when you are at 10,000 feet.
