A lot of you are asking if I am back in the air yet. Not yet. I discovered some exterior cracks in the rubber hose which connects the carb to the intake pipes. Even though there were exterior cracks in the rubber, the cracks did not penetrate the interior walls of the hose and did not contribute to my engine problems. I just thought this would be a good time to replace the hoses. However the vendor I ordered them from misplaced my order and they did not ship out till last Wednesday. I did specify Priority Mail and that should have gotten them here yesterday had they actually shipped last Wednesday but they did not arrive. My plans were to install the carb back on the engine last night and do run ups, adjustments, etc and fly today since everything else is ready to go. Oh well, that did not happen so it looks like it will be next weekend before I have a chance to test fly her and that is only if I get the carb back on. The only things I have found which may have caused my engine to suddenly drop to idle was the diaphragm in the carb was slightly out of shape when compared to a new one. Also there was fluid in the pressure tube leading to the diaphragm chamber. That tube supplies pressure to the diaphragm which in turn actuates a fulcrum which opens up the metering tube allowing the proper amount of fuel into the carburetor. I sure hope this will solve my problem because I am getting the jitters since I have not flown in two weeks. The KR is an addiction and being denied flight in it causes withdrawal symptoms. I need a fix real bad..........
