I'm not sure what you mean by that.  The text under the photo of the
regulator with numbered terminals on it at
http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/corvair/dynamo.html says "Number 1 goes to
the battery, 2 is the blue one from the dynamo, number 3 is from the blue
and white dynamo wire (although I don't think it really matters which is
which since it's AC), number 4 is to the positive side of the idiot light
(the other end of the bulb goes directly to ground), and number 5 is power
from my ignition switch (this is what enables the regulator to charge, not
an output from the regulator)."

When I say "Number 1 goes to the battery" I mean that's where the "system is
powered".  I charge the battery using the big #10 wire from the number one
terminal of the regulator, and from the battery another #10 wire leads to
the bus.  This is just car, where the battery acts as a giant capacitor and
helps buffer the power somewhat.  Best I can tell, my system is wired just
like the lawn mower, but simpler.  That's not my drawing...it came out of
the JD manual.
