I stated that a little wrong. You can legally fly over class C with a
transponder without talking to them. You can not legally fly over or
through class C without a transponder unless you talk to them and they give
you a clearance to do it without the transponder which they usually will do.

It is not legal without the transponder to fly over C or B. However, you
can fly over class C without radio communications if you do have a
transponder unless you call them on the radio and get a clearance.

I have class C near me and some of my planes do not have a transponder. I
have never had a problem with approach giving me a clearance to fly through
or over their airspace without a transponder. If they are very busy they
might say no.

You can also call a tower of class B airports on the phone at least an hour
beforehand and get a clearance to fly through their airspace. I did that
one time when visiting Colin and it was no problem. I just gave them my N
number and they gave me a reservation number that was good for something
like 8 hours. I have also called on the radio to Tampa because I could not
get their phone number and they gave me a clearance with no problems even
though I did not give the hour notice.

Well it's not a Toyota - but to coin a phrase " OH What a Feeling"
Shut down tonight with 100.3 hours of flight time and 195 landings in 10
months since first flight.
What have you got built in the last 10 months?? I loved the building and
now I'm really loving the flying.
While I have your attention I have an FAR question. Is it legal
to fly over class B ceiling without radio communications or transponder.
I asked legal not if it is wise.
