Could be, but I have never had ATC say that I am identing when I transmit that is why I am hoping that it simply is lighting the button and not actually identing. But then I have not asked them to check either. Next time I am up, I intend to do that. I was going to do it today but they were way too busy to ask for favors like testing equipment.
