Dan,

I'm back on the net. After Annie passed away I adopted one of my
step-grandsons and remarried. It has been a long and difficult time. However,
I do have an A&E who is going to help restore N886KR. I know it will take a
while, but he is so very good. I hope all is well. Judging from the note
below, you have not flown N64KR. What patience! Anyway, I have an AVID I've
been flying, and I done some J3 Cub flying. Great fun in both.

Well, Netters, my engine is back in service and got it's first of 3 break-in
runs today. Everything worked as it should and all the temps are good.
After I added the oil filter and "-8" lines, my OP is not as high as it had
been before, and it would not come up just by spinning the engine with the
plugs out, however, almost immediately after starting it, the OP went to 50
and remained above 25 at 2000 RPM. The OT never got above 160 and the CHT
never got above 300.

I am seriously considering holding off on flying her until I can add a drag
device like a belly board. I am concerned that these long wings will keep
this bird afloat way too long.

I have two more run-in sessions that I expect to complete on Monday and then
I will make the final decision on the belly board.
