Well, Netters, my engine is back in service and got it's first of 3 break-in runs today. Everything worked as it should and all the temps are good. After I added the oil filter and "-8" lines, my OP is not as high as it had been before, and it would not come up just by spinning the engine with the plugs out, however, almost immediately after starting it, the OP went to 50 and remained above 25 at 2000 RPM. The OT never got above 160 and the CHT never got above 300.
I am seriously considering holding off on flying her until I can add a drag device like a belly board. I am concerned that these long wings will keep this bird afloat way too long. I have two more run-in sessions that I expect to complete on Monday and then I will make the final decision on the belly board.
