a few weeks ago I was doing some cross country in my pacer and saw a nice grass strip that I had never noticed. I set up to land but some neighborhood dogs ran out onto the runway so I aborted. Last evening I was in the neighborhood and stopped to see what kind of planes were in the hanger. What I found was a weary looking tripacer and a bonanza and a KR2 hanging from the rafters.
I talked to the owner and he has no intention of finishing the KR. and he may be interested in selling it. It is very nearly ready to fly. It has the retractable gear, the turtle deck, canopy, and forward deck are all original from RR. the wood looks very good, the wings are finished (deihl), It has a motor mount and GP VW with Deihl accessory case and a prop. He has never heard of the KR net or of the get togethers.. I am trying to bring him into the fold as he expressed some interest in coming to Mt Vernon if he could bring his motor home. If any one is interested in this plane, contact me and I will put him in contact with you. Keep building. I may have mine flying by the time of Mt. Vernon but probably won't have the hours flown off.
