I've also been a big fan of Wicks, I have to admit that I've been buying
more stuff from AS&S lately, and they have delivered promptly and not messed
anything up for about 5 orders in a row, which is pretty much a miracle in
my book. They now have a policy of shipping anything out the same day, if
ordered by 3PM. And since they are one day away by UPS ground (as opposed
to two days for Wicks), that is often the tie-breaker. And it's undeniable
that AS&S has a better selection and slightly better prices in almost every
case. Their online order system works pretty good, and tells you what's in
stock and where (east or west).

Wicks, on the other hand, has disappointed me a time or two with delivery
taking more than two days twice in the last year (before that, I could say
that they NEVER were more than 2 days away), and their recent catalogs and
internet catalogs are nothing short of pathetic compared to the old paper
catalog. It's essentially a printout of their online catalog, which is full
of errors and confusing layouts, etc. I've complained about 10 times, and
get assurances that the next version will be better, but it's always the
same. They badly need a new webmaster, that's for sure. I'd rather have
the old Wicks back...
