I have a KR-2,,,no engine or prop (no firewall forward). I already have a cowling on it,,,I think it fit's VW engine's. Will it fit a corvair engine or do I have to get a longer cowling. If that's the case,,,I'd swap this corvair engine for a VW engine of 1835 or larger. I weigh 240lbs,,,so is this KR going to be a glorified single place, or will I be able to take smaller people? I want to keep it light,,and simple. Very basic VFR panel,,not the kitchen sink like some exp.'s I've seen in the past. My need's are very basic,,,hand held GPS is plentiful for me. I dont' plan on trip's over 400 mile's,,and those would be only several time's a year,,mostly local 50 mile run's max. I have a canopy on it ,,,but I'd like something with more "bubble,,and the tank is aluminum, and I think it feel's like it weigh's 50 lbs,,very heavy. The panel covering the tank is aluminum,,and I'd like to change it to fiberglass,,,keeping it removable like this aluminum panel. My need's are quite simple,,just needing engine, prop, and some "attaboy's" to keep me motivated and on my way. Is there any KR's flying around the Fort Smith, Arkansas area? I think that will also motivate me. OH yea,,one more thing,,,is there a KR-2 out there that would get me up as a passenger? If not,,how much do I need to lose? LOL,,,,I've been flying ultra's and cessnas',,,and owned and flown the vp-1,,,and a fisher youngster. How does the handling of a KR-2 compare to a 172, vp-1,,fisher youngster,,,???? Mine is a tri gear,,so I know I have an advantage to the tricky handling. Lemme know ya'll,,
