I hope you meant the 8 inches was prop clearance and yes, that would be a minimum. My angle of incidence in the three point attitude is 12 degrees for the wing center section cord line and I have the wing (center section) set at the 3 1/2 degrees per the plans. That seems to work well from my experience. That puts it just below the stall angle. That's the best I could get with my gear setup and the 24 inch stretch of the fuselage. As I never intentionally three point my KR on landing it doesn't matter if I can't get a full stall. I suspect that's about all you'll get with any reasonable gear setup and is as great an angle as most flying KR's have. I'd even take a WAG and say that the KR's flying with the original retracts probably set at 9 or 10 degrees at best. I was surprised to learn during building that raising or lowering the tail several inches has a very small effect on the angle of incidence on the ground. The shorter your fuselage, the greater the effect. Place a digital level or angle meter on your firewall and check the reads. As always, your results may vary. :-) Larry Flesner
