I was probably the one that posted the 9" ground clearance that Dan mentioned. I seem to recall that's what our FAA is looking for as a minimum. It sounds like you're in great shape. I'm thinking I have about 10 or 11 inches and I've flown into and out of some pretty tall grass. The more spring you have in your gear, the more clearance you need to start with to allow for those hard landings. Thrust line at top longerons (or close) is probably about right. It's not brain surgery critical. Larry Flesner
