Netters: In spring of '65 I was taxiing out to depart Palm Springs after a refueling stop when I witnessed my 1st Lear Jet depart to the north.
He began his take-off run and in almost no time he broke ground and tucked the gear away and then at about mid runway pointed the nose to the sky and in about a minute all that could be seen was (2) redish gows as the craft disappeared over MT Sa Gorgonio. would have loved that ride. the specs at that time said the Mav rate of climb was in the neighborhood of 10,000 ft a minute and from what I saw I believe it.
