What you say is true of all general aviation, not just experimental aviation.  
95%
of the time it is some pilot not taking care of business or acting like a
"Jack-Ass" that causes problems.  We all must remember that in the air we are
Aliens from "Mother Natures" intent and she tends to be as unhappy as any mother
when her rules are pushed around and tends to become most unforgiving!!!
