Just saw the news that one of my heroes, 84 year-old Scott Crossfield, died in a small plane crash in Georgia yesterday. I had the honor of seeing him in person when I was a young Airman at Edwards AFB in 1959 and watched from the ground as he flew the X-15. One of many amazing pilots and aviation pioneers.
