I arrived at the airport today at 7am and worked steady till 3:45pm installing the wing, hooking everything back up, filling brake reservoirs, charging a battery which winded up needing replacing, and doing a multitude of other things to ready her for flight. However, I did not fly due to some engine issues. I need to make adjustments to the carb and get all the settings on the engine correct. I did a static run up and only got 2750. Before I replaced the crank I was getting 3050 static. Also the engine was stumbling at full static. Then I started getting smoke in the cockpit. I figure it may be oil burning off after the rebuild but I need to watch that closely before flight. There are no leaks on the engine which would cause smoke thus I attribute it to burn off right now. Anyway, I was getting pretty tired so I called it off for the day. Hopefully I can get back at it tomorrow for a while but this weekend is full of family Easter plans so that may not happen.
