That should absorb any water and then you could blow it out. I doubt if you have any amount of water in the carb anyway if the engine was still running. We recently did an annual on a Tripacer that was flown in from 100 miles away. The gascolator was 3/4 full of water that had been there long enough to cause corrosion , the left main tank had water in it, and the right tank sump had water in it even though the right tank was empty of fuel.
