I apologize if this is insulting to anyone, but just so you don't think that anything that is made out of fiberglass has to be white the real determining factor is the resin type that will be used. I believe most "epoxy" resin systems do need to be painted white but "vinylester" and "polyester" resins can be painted darker colors. The auto industry has been using them for years on Corvettes and other cars. Unfortunately, vinyls and polys tend to be more toxic.

If you're using extruded polystyrene foam board (pink Owens-Corning or blue Dow Styrofoam, or any other), you'll have other problems. At about 165F the polystyrene board will begin to lose its dimensional stability and can bow, warp, cup, or otherwise lose its shape and rigidity. And I believe that T-88 structural epoxy will also begin to soften at higher temps. Like the man said... you can paint your composite airplane any color you like, as long as it's white ;o) Oscar Zuniga San Antonio, TX mailto: taildr...@hotmail.com website at http://www.flysquirrel.net _______________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp to UNsubscribe from KRnet, send a message to krnet-le...@mylist.net please see other KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html
