My KR2 also has the original kr2 retract gear. The fellow that I bought it
from said that I could make it non-retractable by locking up the linkage.
I figured if the gear ever retracted at the wrong time, it would mean a prop
strike, ruin the prop and probably also cost a crank shaft, plus whatever wing
/body damage.

Oh.. several have asked if I wanted to sell my extra KR2S plans. I don't
think so, but Mark Langerford's version of a streched / widened KR2S with the
new air foil, corvair engine.. etc.. has pretty much morfed into a plane about
as different for the original KR1 as that was from the Taylor .. what ever that
Ken Rand based his KR2 on.

amy opinion. But what would stop Mark from marketing his own plans based on
his own prototype airplane.

Bobby,

That might be a big mistake. Save your KR and put a fixed gear on it.
I
had to crash my first one 3 times before I finally got wise and put on
a
fixed. Never crashed it again. The crashes were caused by gear
collapse.

Might go ahead and fly this thing with the retract, to see if
I like it before I get into a modification project. Twice I have had
retract hickys.
