When I was in the Sudan; We had this place we use to fly to. The only way you knew you was on course ; there was two jeba's(mountains )half way there and where you was position between the two , told you if you was on course or not. Lot of dead reconing navigation there. If you didn't hold a course you were dead. Also out in my part of the West we have Mountains. I live close to Boise and have mountains all around me.
