Great way to do them. I have done a few things with partially cured cloth that you just couldn't do the normal way, particularly when having to glass upside down. I have found that another thing that works good for some applications is the let it cure where it won't bend easily then hit it with a heat gun to get it soft and press it into place for a few minutes until it cools and stays in the shape you put it in.
