I have a reply that is not intended to be
disrespectful or rude. It's just my $.02. Ok?
If you don't understand the ramifications of the
questions you have asked, my suggestion is to follow
the original plans to the letter, or do a lot of
reading (not posted opinions, but educational
material) of aeronautical texts to learn about such
things before you make the decision to change things.

The reason I say that is this: I have spent the
better part of my adult life building engines (race, 2
stroke, 4 stroke, air and water cooled) and you don't
know how many times I have seen people "listen" to
advice, not toally understanding it, and make mods
based on it only to experience total failure because
they did not understand EXACTLY what they were doing.
A guy will buy a manual on "How to build a Fast motor"
and he'll do things to said motor, partially, not
realizing that an action equals an opposite reaction.
Example: More horsepower from motor = tougher drive
train to deliver power = stronger frame to hold power
= more weight to put stress on power delivery =
inadequate suspension to handle more weight and stress
= things breaking that are blamed on the wrong area =
things being "fixed" that aren't broken.... it all
goes on.

Now, you want to modify your airplane. WHat are all
the related reactions? If you don't know or won't
spend the extrordinary time to learn, why risk your
life with an experiment that may go wrong?

Like I said...no disrespect. Just trying to make you
think hard.

But I prolly gave you a headache. :-)

Take the great responses you get from this group and
start researching concepts on your own. Educate
yourself, learn the eqaul reactions...then decide. I
know I will.
