OK, one more question for you guys who actually know your way around an airplane. The main reason I wanted to look at my bearings was because after a few hours of taxi tests I noticed aluminum chips on my wheels. The culprit was the wheel covers, which were contacting the ends of the axles, and were having holes machines in them by the ends of the axles. I thought spacers might fix that (sold by Wicks) but now that I look at it, I can see that I already had the spacers in place, and any additional spacer on the backside looks like it would keep the inner brake pad from contacting the disc. See photo at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/05083114m.jpg for a better idea of what I'm talking about. The only way I can figure to "fix" this is to also space the caliper out along with a thicker (7/16") spacer. Any ideas?
I got my seat back from the upholstery guy yesterday, and was stunned at how nice it looked. Check out http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/05083112m.jpg for a look. I ran the engine another half hour this afternoon, with several 3 minute full throttle runs. At that point the CHTs hit 500 degrees F, and I let it cool for about three minutes and run it up again...
