Yes you did. Probably about 60% of the area got out.
My wife and kids are safely in Houston. I had a
sister and mother to deal with. They wouldn't go and
so I had to stay as well. I finally got my mother to
go to the hospital with my sister (who is a nurse -
she was on vacation but volunteered to go to work so
my mother could get into that shelter). Now I have
all of their pets (5 dogs) at my house. It was the
only way they would go.
I am fairly well covered. I have a small boat in the
driveway if I should need it. The real concern is the
aftermath - no power, no water, no sewerage, possible
flooded conditions. Luckily I have tons of camping
gear, propane, lanterns, stoves etc. I even have
freeze dried foods. I can hang out for about 2 weeks
before it becomes a real problem. Without having to
worry about anyone else I have a lot of flexibility.
I will just watch the news and play on the computer
until (if) I lose power.
I'll send another note around midnight if possible and
then dawn again.
It's like a scary adventure.
