My Revmaster uses J wires held in the head with allen screws. These tend to read 50 degrees F lower than wires below the spark plugs. Also, you might want to google the web for info on the j temp probes. Depending on your method of running the sensor wire from the engine to the gage, you can end up with much lower temp readings.
