I finished up all the repairs on my engine today including re-working the front baffling on the air intakes. After doing a few minutes of ground test runs, I decided to take to the air. The duration of my flight was just over 40 minutes with two full stop landings. My oil temps were 30 degrees lower than before now at 190° Vs the 220° I was seeing prior to the engine repair. Static RPM with my 54x54 Sterba remained at 3100. In flight at WOT I was at 3200. I hope this will improve as the new rings break in. I really thought I would see more RPM in flight than that. The engine did run noticeably smoother. My new (used) Narco Com 11A really talks great. I carried on a conversation with a Mooney which was a good 60 miles away. The control towers can't say I am weak and scratchy any more. Hopefully, I will get some more test flights this weekend and be able to get some really good numbers. Later................Oh yea, 27 more days to the Gathering.......YeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! !!!!!!!
