Looked into it.. But same as you, I don't know how
good they would be in the sunlight.  I don't know
anyone that has one I can "borrow" to see if I like
it.

My suspicion is that they don't work well...  Their
brightness rating usually isn't very high
(300-400nits) and most are all transmissive.  Cars can
get away with using them because of the shade caused
by the roof.  Having a canopy, especially a bubble,
makes this impossible. 

Also, there is a BIG difference between "daylight
readable" and "sunlight readable", the later of which
I need.
