The waxed staples held fine and pulled easily. As for wax around the staple holes, many parts of my plane were laid up in molds waxed with the same wax. It cleans up easily enough that painting wasn't a problem. It will be a while before I paint these parts, but really don't anticipate any unusual problems. Jeff Scott N1213W Los Alamos, NM
