What kind of a DB do you want? MS Access, MySQL? Do you have the DB software?

Subject: KR> KR Database

Hello Net

Yesterday I has a short discussion with Mark L on the subject of a KR database.
Below is a copy of part of what I presented to him.

"I tried to answer a question for someone today and went looking for pictures
of O-200 powered KR's. My efforts made me wish that we had a KR data base to
go into and look up things about the KR's that are out there. We came close
with the KRnet members year book.
I'm not sure how much space is required and I truly don't have the skill to
build the database, but I do have space for two databases at
Aviation-Mechanics.com. Of course that does depend on the number of MB's
required.
I would like to see such things as small pictures of planes and owners, facts
like: type engine, no of cyl's, Eng Manuf, engine Capacity, and a lot of other
data like prop size and make, and on and on.
It would be excellent if each owner could fill in an online form which could be
automatically uploaded into the data base or cut and pasted as a DB record by
an administrator.
What do you think? If I remember correctly there is someone in our group that
has the skills."

I'm sure that someone in our group has the skills, it would just be
volunteering the time to create the database. We tried before to get one off
the ground and it did not happen. Perhaps this time we can make a functional
database for all to use. At this point I am asking for someone who has DB
skills to step forward. A little later I will ask for input on things to
include. Please contact me off net with your reply.
