I don't know about aircraft but I built a boat and trailer and when I went
to register same I was told that all I needed for a home built was a
"Certificate of Origin". A certificate of origin is produced by the builder.
I was further advised that in order to avoid being taxed, also furnish receipts
for the materiels used to create both the boat and trailer. If you are a
member of EAA, I am sure if you contact the following person: Joe Norris, EAA
Aviation Services, EAA Aviation Center, Oshkosh, WI 888 322-4636, extension
6806 jnor...@eaa.org,
he will have an answer for you.
