As far as being idle for a year, it happens to the best of us. Those who
are struggling to complete their KR's probably would disagree.
If the plane ran well when last flown, Then as long as the engine does not
quit at idle and makes as much power as you say, then I would go out and fly
for an hour and then see what the idle is like. I would stay on top of the
airport just in case, but after a year the way something sounds and feels
may have changed in your mind.
