My KR has often times been confused with a Glassair I TD, even when I used to fly around with a Glassair I TD. They look so similar.
It was almost 8 years ago that my KR became one of the earlier -2S KRs to fly, although since mine was started prior to the release of the -2S supplements it does not have all of the changes incorporated. It was decidedly unpopular among the old guard at the '97 Gathering as it was too big and didn't look like a KR. It was refered to as "Big Bird" or "that big plane". Jeannette made a point to walk around it and tell me everything she didn't like about it before telling me she really preferred the little KRs like Ken's. The attitude change over the last several years has been interesting. BTW, my KR ticked over 500 hours on the airframe last weekend while flying home from the Casa Grande Fly-In near Phoenix (where it was still repeated called a Glassair). :o) -Jeff Scott N1213W A couple of photos from last weekend in Phoenix: http://www.vla.com/jscott/imag0012.jpg http://www.vla.com/jscott/imag0062.jpg -- Mark Jones <mjo...@muellersales.com> wrote: I was doing a little taxi testing yesterday after work and there was a Cessna 172 doing pattern work. He saw me out on the runway and called me saying "28U to the white Glasair doing taxi runs, copy?" Well, there was no one else on the airport so I knew he was calling me. Basically he was just wanting to talk to someone and when he responded back, he commented to me "that sure is a nice looking Glasair". Well I responded telling him I am a KR and not a Glasair. He was amazed and could not believe I was a KR. I responded to him that I appreciated the compliment and now he knows where the Glasair design derived from. Thank God my KR does not cost as much as a Glasair. Mark Jones (N886MJ) Wales, WI
