Actually, the plans are a bit ambiguous. If you have a look at the 
pictures in the construction manual ( pictures N0 3, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31) 
they clearly show plywood ribs with large lightening holes at each end of 
the center section, and at the inboard side of the outer wing sections.

On the other hand, drawing N0 68 page 79 shows no plywood rib anywhere 
near the WAFs; and it shows a 1"foam rib at the inboard side of the outer 
wing section.

Confusing.

The only ply ribs in my plans built wings (with the addition of fuel 
tanks)
are the 48" and 36" ribs on each end that are 3/32" ply.

I used two 48" ribs on each side in the center section as sanding guides
and a ply rib on each end of the outer wing panel for a sanding guide.
