I like my tailwheel all the way to the back of my 24" fuselage stretch
and with the wide gear my KR handles GREAT on the ground. I'll not
trade my steerable / full-swivel tailwheel for any other setup. I would
however like to have a small pneumatic tire instead of the solid tire
I have now. I did some taxi test one day with a pneumatic tire and
the differance was astounding as far as the noise level goes. Mark
is probably right when he says the pneumatic wheel/tire weight would be
the same or lighter than a solid tire.

The wheel he found looks good but the 1/4" axle size probably won't
handle my tail weight with a single fork tailwheel assembly. To
make it work I'd have to find different size bearings and there we
go again. I'll probably just put up with a little tailwheel noise and
go fly. Mine is only noisy on a rough surface and makes very little
noise on new asphalt. It doesn't make any noise at all on grass! :-)
