Larry; obvious solution, to me at least is when faced with this situation, move the whole tailwheel assembly forward 1 bay and make associated changes to assembly to work in that position. Small changes in the moment arm will definitely compensate for the added weight that far back. I have done this on my project and also increased the angle of the assembly to fuselage incidence, so far the numbers check out on paper but then again, practice will be the true acid test.
