I have been trying to get my Midget Mustang registered quick since it will
be ready in less than a month. I have read all the paperwork and then
called EAA and the FAA to be double sure I didn't do anything wrong.

If you don't care what N number you get you just leave it blank. If you
want to request a special one go to http://registry.faa.gov and do it
online. You can call them in about two days to confirm that you got the
number at 405-954-4206. The paperwork you need to send in is the 8050-1
registration form and the 8050-88 Affidavit of Ownership For Amateur-built
Aircraft.

One VERY IMPORTANT thing to do that is easy to miss is to print your name
under the signature on the 8050-1 or they will kick it back. Include a
check for $5.00 with the registration.

Instead of requesting the N number online and waiting a few days to make
sure it goes through you can just check available numbers online then submit
a list of five of them in order of preference with the registration.
Include a check for $15 if you do that.

Subject: KR> AC Registration

Guys,
I'm still a little fuzzy on the correct order to get registered. Can the
request for the N number be sent in separately or does it have to be sent
at the same time as the rest of the registration documents and they fill
in the blanks where the N number is missing ?? I want to get it right on
the first try and I'm not sure about this because they say incomplete
documents will be returned or delayed.
Thanks in advance
