I know this has degenerated into incessant whining, but I can't resist. After all the problems I had with my recent AS&S order, I got something in the mail from them today that got me going again. Recall that the last order was eventually shredded by the dog after the UPS man left it on the front porch, right under the shelf with the sign that says "UPS, FedEx, etc...Please put boxes on shelf...dog will EAT anything left on porch".
To their credit, AS&S promptly replaced that sensor with another UPS red shipment the next day, but what I got in the mail today was a statement with "total amount due" for the $33 price of the replacement. Of course I went through the roof and called them, and was assured that they ALWAYS send a bill to people whose packages have been reshipped due to insurance claims ("it helps to keep our paperwork straight"), and that I could just ignore it! Somebody's going to have to do a lot of talking to convince me that these people have a clue as to how to run a business. On a lighter note, the UPS guy told me yesterday that the UPS manager used the mutilated remains of the box and packaging debris to drive home the point that if there's a dog at a residence, you don't leave packages within their reach. Even wierder than the rest of this story, the other day the FedEx guy left a note on the door that he was unable to deliver my new 200G hard drive because of "barking dog". But he could have put the package on the shelf about 10 times faster than writing me that note and sticking it to the door two feet away. Yes, I called his manager too, after having to drive an hour and a half to pick it up at the FedEx office. And yes, somebody needs to do a little more work with the dog! I'm sure the kids will get right on it. I'm just about ready to give up on life altogether...but I'm making progress on the KR in spite of it all.
