Yes, I have. It's great stuff, and regarded as the defacto free image viewer in the digital photography world. I didn't know it also did compression (maybe that's relatively new), but I'd say there's your free software that I was talking about. I haven't used it much, but if you can't find "compression" anywhere, it may be that you have to "save as" for that screen to appear (at least that's how Photoshop works). The neat thing about Cyberview is that you can use sliders to see the effects of compression real time, and maybe Irfanview does something similar. Once you get the hang of it though, you'll know exactly what to compress it to without having to look. I save all of mine to 3 on a scale of 10 in Photoshop. By all means, use Irfanview. It's highly recommended. My 640 x 480 photos usually end up around 25-35k, and that's good enough for web work...
