This is an update to by engine buildup. My VolksPower acc case is back from
the welder, and the only thing that remains to do on it, is to drill and tap it
for the starter mount bolts. I ordered copper head gaskets from Geers
Engineering yesterday and will get delivery by the end of next week. The
cylinders and pistons are installed and the heads are in place for the moment.
The engine assembly is on the engine stand/ firewall assembly and this
afternoon the entire package along with my cowling was delivered to the exhaust
maker along with the turbo and carb. It will also be the end of next week
before he has the time to work on it. I have a few odd things that must be
done to the airframe, like relocate the gasolator. My compression ratio should
be just a tad over 7.5. To get that number I'm using .042" copper gaskets.
The cost will be $65.00. With any luck I may get airborne by the end of the
month.
