Mark, I'll not address the thickness for you to use as Scott has posted a
very extensive analysis of the various qualities of each. I will however
post this on the net, instead of as a private email. Solid rivets can be
set using a piece of flat stock steel and hammer. Hinges on my current
project or countersunk to accept the skin dimple then attached using AN3
rivets, which are 5/32. Very, very easy to set. There is a saying, "your
worst rivet is 90% as strong as your best". Go ahead and whack them with a
hammer.

Mark, when you make your final determination, and I recommend thinner and
use stiffiners, measure the brake and hinge configuration, let me know and
I'll send you the proper size rivets.
