I have a Hirth F30U engine 92Hp 101Nm torque driving through a 2.03:1 reduction drive, total weight 52Kg (the reduction drive gives 92Hp and approx 190Nm torque, after gear losses)
Yet to fly it, aircraft is ready, weather was not and now I have to go away for work for a month, so further delays :-( The new Hirth 3701ES Fuel injected 100hp 3 cylinder liquid cooled engine. sounds great and economical. http://www.aati.com.au/hirth/3701E-ES_engines.htm Regards Barry Kruyssen Cairns, Australia AUF 19-3873 k...@bigpond.com http://users.tpg.com.au/barryk/KR2.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: air2st...@aol.com Has anyone tried a Hirth engine in a KR? They have up to 110 horsepower, 1,000 hour tbo. and are VERY light weight. What are the pro's and con's to this choice?
