Sherman, I don't know what kind of foam is or is not acceptable, but I prefer working with the blue or pink foam. It sands very easy, whereas the cream colored stuff is almost rubbery. I know that it is tougher, but as I understand it, the strength is in the sandwich construction and not the foam itself. You can get the pink or blue stuff from AS, and if you have trouble with that, I think I have a box that it was shipped in that may have a number on it.
