Folks, just because you want to use silver paint doesn't mean you have to 
suffer poor radio operation.  Just install the antenna on the outside of the 
airplane instead of burying it in the structure, and in effect the silver 
paint becomes a ground plane.  Sure, you add the drag of an external 
antenna, but there's your trade-off.

Anybody done any tests to see how much speed you give up by having an 
external antenna?  All except for Mark Langford (who is fairing his 
itty-bitty transponder antenna, for goodness' sake!), who can even measure 
it?
