We are not using a piano hinge, but we used 3/4 in wood screws about 4 inches apart to attach the angle that the cowl is attached to. I drilled a starter hole before putting the screws into the firewall. I would not use pop rivets. I do not think that T88 will hold up with the vibration, gluing metal to metal.
