Dana, What I got was that weather got them and they landed on a road. One was OK, the other had a lot of damage such that it had to be loaded in the U-Haul. Then the un-damaged plane took off and caught a wire. That one was totally destroyed. You are correct that both of them came on to the gathering and took their planes home in the U-Haul on Sunday morning.
The part about catching the wire hearsay about what caused the second accident, but, I do understand that neither had anything to do with the condition of the aircraft. In fact I got all of this second or third hand, except that I did see them leaving on Sunday morning and they were at the banquet, so I know that they are OK. Weather is a scary thing. I barely escaped from a terrible fate on my way back from the Columbia gathering. We need to get this event during a time when the likelihood of good weather is much greater. N64KR Daniel R.
