On the subject of antennas, I was talking to William Wyune today, and he suggested (as a true experimenter would) that I stretch some thin cardboard over the vertical stab and paint it, to see what effect it had on the radio reception and transmission. I think that's pretty brilliant, but will probably use wide electrical or duct tape instead. I'll get my ham radio/electrical engineer buddy over to check it before and after I spray it, and see how it goes. Fortunately for me, my vertical stab is an individual panel (since the aft deck is removable), so I can paint it several times without concern for proper blending, and I plan to make it a different color from the aft deck anyway.
Oh, and just so Mark Jones doesn't have all the fun, I took a photo a few minutes ago and put it at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/03090700m.jpg . Not sure what it shows, but I think it's cool. I love the way the struts sound as the canopy slowly rises to the top... Mark Langford, Huntsville, AL N56ML "at" hiwaay.net see KR2S project at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford
