Sorry general, subject line just a play on words. Since I just reformatted the hard drive on this computer I don't have all my software loaded so I can't take a pic today but this one shows one just for fun. I couldn't resist clecoing on the aft skins. I checked the canoe (Van's calls it a canoe, not a boat) as is using a smart level. Prepunched, out of the box, no jigs, sitting on false gear legs inserted in center carry through, without twist removing rear deck piece installed, the fuselage from front to back is 2/10 of a degree off. I put a bubble level on it and couldn't see the 2/10 so I'm going with the bubble level and saying it is dead on:-) Seriously, I don't know if I can clamp, drill and rivet to within 2/10 of a degree that twist deck piece.........but I'll try!!
It has been two months tomorrow since I got my fuselage kit in a box. Now remember, this is the slow build. Heck when I sat in my fuselage for the first time last week, I felt like dancing naked in the shop.........all except for all those alum pubes all over the place:-) Isn't it amazing the little things that generate so much satisfaction as we get older?? Anyway, here is a shot of the factory assembly line. http://rvflying.tripod.com/fus5.jpg Dana Overall 1999 & 2000 National KR Gathering host Richmond, KY RV-7 slider/fuselage, Imron black, "Black Magic" Finish kit ordered!!
